Service Terms

We dust many surfaces with feather dusters. The nature of these dusters is to brush dust from a surface and into the air. Once the dust settles, it may reaccumulate on the same surface, or another surface. We strive to minimize this effect, but it is not possible for us to eliminate dust.

Polishing furniture is not part of normal services, but we are happy to include it upon request. You will have to furnish the appropriate polish and cleaners for your furniture.

Difficult to Reach Areas

Maid in Alexandria does not climb ladders above two steps during cleanings. Higher areas will be dusted with an extension duster.

Our primary focus with laundry is to wash non-clothing items. This includes sheets, bath towels, and kitchen cloths. Bath mats can also be washed, but with the understanding that mats absorb a lot of water and create imbalances in the motion of the washing machine which decreases the life of the machine. Arrangements can be made to launder bath mats at a laundromat.

Loads of clothes can be washed as well upon request. Dry clean only and items with special instructions should be separated or removed from other garments. We wish to prevent any damage to your clothes, so please sort such items prior to our arrival.

There is a limit to the number of loads we can wash during a single cleaning. We can usually wash 5-7 loads during a maid service by using the quick wash setting on the washing machine.
